About the Event

Three talented musicians will perform in the 1848 salon constructed for live musical entertainment. It is acoustically dynamic providing a magnificent setting for this exciting concert.

Carolynn Whitford studied voice at the Mannes College of Music in New York as a trained soprano.  Her singing career includes first soprano with the New York Choral Society, and with stage credits in opera and musical theater in the Rockland County and the New York City community. She maintains her active membership with the Elmwood Playhouse both on stage and on committees. Since 2020, Carolynn has started a new concert series of Arias & Art Song, bringing a varied program of beloved arias and perhaps some lesser-known art songs, along with favorite show tunes, standard ballads and contemporary songs.

This year, Carolynn has partnered with esteemed baritone, Dan Cohen, who lends his voice to the program bringing yet another level of talent and song. Devoted to the singing arts, Dan’s varied background include actor, singer, songwriter, and producer. Dan’s original songs have been recorded by a variety of artists by folk/pop singers. Also known as Danna Banana, he is a family musician and songwriter dubbed

‘Best Party Entertainer’ by New York Magazine.

Thomas Hoetzl joins Arias & Art Songs for his third year as pianist.  Tom is an accomplished pianist from a young age as a rehearsal pianist in high school and continued through playing piano in musical theater while attending Wesleyan University. He continues his passion for playing the piano at many theaters as music director or accompanist and most recently is in charge of the theater program at Pearl

River High School, directing and accompanying two musicals each school year. We are so blessed to have him as our talented accompanist for Arias & Art Songs 2023.

The Friends are deeply grateful to the musicians who are graciously donating all proceeds to Harmony Hall’s Not Just a Front Porch Campaign.

Coffee, Tea and Cake will be served after the concert. Doors open at 6:30 pm.  Tickets are $20. Advance sale only.
